Keynote lecture: The ‘many faces’ of full-face transplantation

Bohdan Pomahac, MD
Yale School of Medicine, US
Drawing from his extensive experience, Dr. Pomahac will discuss the significant advancements in surgical techniques and patient management, emphasising dermatologists’ critical role in managing skin rejection, infections, and post-surgical care. The presentation will also explore the challenges related to skin integrity, the risk of malignancies, and the unique dermatologic considerations that arise in face transplant recipients.
Attendees will gain valuable knowledge on the latest topical treatments, the importance of matching skin tone in donor selection, and the potential of the skin microbiome in reducing rejection risks.
Dr. Pomahac’s lecture promises to be an exceptional opportunity for dermatologists to deepen their understanding of this evolving field.
