Scholarships and Awards

EADV Scholarships

Twice a year, in the occasion of EADV Symposium and EADV Congress, the EADV Honours and Awards Committee, chaired by Prof. Asja Prohic, supports young professionals’ participation at the EADV events.

Three scholarships are available, based on the geographical location of the applicants:

Michael Hornstein Memorial Scholarship

EADV will offer this scholarship to one selected applicant from each Central, Eastern, Western & Northern European country.

John Stratigos Memorial Scholarship

EADV will offer this scholarship to one selected applicant from each Southern European & Mediterranean country*.

Imrich Sarkany non-European Memorial Scholarship

EADV will offer this scholarship to one selected applicant for each non-European country – max thirty (30) applicants.

* including Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Morocco, Syria (Arab Rep), Tunisia, Türkiye.

Awards

Best Researcher Award – EADV Alumni Club

Every year, in occasion of the Congress, the EADV Honours and Awards Committee, under the chairpersonship of Prof. Asia Prohic, offers to one specialist or resident in dermatology and/or venereology who is an EADV member and a member of the EADV Alumni Club an award consisting of:

  • a free registration to the EADV Congress
  • a travel stipend of 1000€
  • a free membership for the next calendar year
  • an invitation to speak at the EADV Congress scheduled for the upcoming year

Application mandatory criteria

  • Must be an EADV Member
  • Must have been previously awarded one of the EADV Scholarships (MHMS, JSMS, ISNEMS) and be part of the EADV Alumni Club
  • Must be under 45 years of age (at the time of the application)
  • Must not have previously received this award nor being selected for another Scholarship/Grant in the same year
  • Must have a minimum of 1000 points within the list of publications
  • Must present on his/her professional career during the scholarship ceremony (10-minutes speech)
  • Will be expected to prepare a brief report at the conclusion of their experience
  • Must have adequate knowledge of the English language

Required documentation (in English)

  • A short CV (not more than 3 pages)
  • A list of publications written as explained in the document “How to prepare my publications list” available online. You may download the relevant list of publications template from here
IMPORTANT: A new EXCEL template has been introduced for preparing your list of publications.
Please, ensure that the list is filled in/updated accordingly before uploading it.

Scoring system

Evaluation of applications is made based on an objective assessment of the applicant’s scientific activities, according to the below scoring system:

A minimum of 1000 points is required to gain eligibility for the BRA.

IMPORTANT: Only complete applications filled in according to the requested format will be considered by the Honours and Awards Committee. Applications that are incomplete and/or not filled in properly will be automatically rejected.
We advise that applicants do not wait until the last day to submit the application as the whole procedure and eventual reviews require time to be finalised.

How to apply

  • To apply, you need to access the MyEADV platform and navigate to the Opportunities / Best Researcher Award section.

  • Make sure that you log into the platform using your EADV-member credentials (email address + password).

EADV Best Researcher Award
