EADV Scholarships

EADV Scholarships calls for 2025 Symposium in Prague are open

Twice a year, in occasion of EADV Symposium and EADV Congress, the EADV Honours and Awards Committee, chaired by Prof. Asja Prohic, supports young professionals’ participation at the EADV events.

Three scholarships are available, based on the geographical location of the applicants:

Michael Hornstein Memorial Scholarship

One applicant from each Central, Eastern, Western & Northern European country.

John Stratigos Memorial Scholarship

One applicant from each Southern European & Mediterranean country *.

Imrich Sarkany non-European Memorial Scholarship

One applicant per country, max thirty (30) applicants from non-European countries.

* including Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Morocco, Syria (Arab Rep), Tunisia, Türkiye.

Awards

Call for applications for the 2024 Best Researcher Award closed on 17 April 2024

Every year, in occasion of the Congress, the EADV Honours and Awards Committee, under the chairpersonship of Prof. Asia Prohic, offers to one specialist or resident in dermatology and/or venereology who is an EADV member and a member of the EADV Alumni Club an award consisting of:

  • a free registration to the EADV Congress
  • a travel stipend of 1000€
  • a free membership for the next calendar year
  • an invitation to speak at the EADV Congress scheduled for the upcoming year

The selected awardee will hold a 10-minute lecture during the Scholarship Ceremony taking place during the Congress about his/her professional and scientific career.

Application mandatory criteria:

  • Must be an EADV Member
  • Must have been previously awarded one of the EADV Scholarships (MHMS, JSMS, ISNEMS) and be part of the EADV Alumni Club
  • Must be under 45 years of age (at the time of the application)
  • Must have adequate knowledge of the English language
  • Must present on his/her professional career during the scholarship ceremony
  • Will be expected to prepare a brief report at the conclusion of their experience
  • Must not have previously received this award nor being selected for another Scholarship/Grant in the same year

Required documentation:

  • A short CV (not more than 3 pages)
  • A list of publications written as explained in the document “How to prepare my publications list” available online. You may download the relevant list of publications template from here

IMPORTANT: a new scoring system applies.
Please, ensure your list of publications has been prepared/updated accordingly before uploading it.

Scoring system:

Evaluation of applications is made based on an objective assessment of the applicant’s scientific activities, according to the below scoring system:

IMPORTANT: Only complete applications filled in according to the requested format will be considered by the Honours and Awards Committee. Applications that are incomplete and/or not filled in properly will be automatically rejected.
We advise that applicants do not wait until the last day to submit the application as the whole procedure and eventual reviews require time to be finalised.

Make sure that you log into the platform using your EADV-member credentials (email address + password).
