Christian Posch

Vienna, Austria

In previous studies, he has highlighted the critical role of the MAPK, PI3K/AKT/mTOR and cell cycle pathways for NRAS mutant melanoma maintenance. His paradigm-shifting findings help to explain differences in the sensitivity of NRAS mutant cells to specific small molecule inhibitors. Additionally, he has discovered that the negative regulator of (auto)-immunity, PD-1, also activates pro-tumorigenic, tumor cell intrinsic signaling events upon ligation with PDL1 or PDL2. From 2018-2022 he was the head of dermato-oncology at the Technical University of Munich. Since 2022 he has been the head of dermatology at the Vienna Healthcare Group, Austria.

She and her team identified 39 genes, that could be used as potential biomarkers of endogenous human skin aging in both genders and highlighted the role of Wnt signalling in aging. The success of her work is reflected in several research awards and honours amongst them the 3rd Tiburtius Prize of the Berlin Universities as well as in more than 150 publications
