A variety of nail conditions require surgery for their treatment. Most dermatologists are, however, hesitant to perform surgical operations on nails.
This course will give detailed information as to the biology and pathology of the nail for the surgeon, patient selection and preparation, anaesthesia, postoperative care and pain management.
Further, the most frequent nail conditions to be operated on will be outlined, such as ingrown nails, pincer nails, benign and malignant nail tumours.
Finally, information will be given for more demanding surgeries such as congenital malalignment of the bit toenails in babies, split nail corrections and matrix grafts.
The participants will be able to perform most of the important nail surgeries and also learn where consultation of a nail surgery expert will be advisable.
