Today, the World Health Assembly officially recognised skin diseases as a global public health priority
The resolution highlights the need to address a wide range of skin conditions – from infectious and chronic to emerging diseases with skin symptoms.
With over 4.69 billion incident cases globally, skin and subcutaneous diseases are now among the top ten causes of disability.
The resolution calls for strengthened surveillance, education, and access to essential care.
The European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) welcomes this milestone and supports the development of the Global Plan of Action on public health responses to skin diseases.
