JEADV Call for papers: Digital Intelligence for dermatology

Background:

Modern neural networks, big datasets and other digital technologies have allowed for more accurate diagnoses, improved understanding of diseases, and streamlined clinical workflows. The JEADV invites authors to submit proposals for a special issue on “Digital intelligence for dermatology”, guest edited by Philipp Tschandl and Olivier Gaide, with the goal to gain more insights and perspectives in the context of clinical applications, as well as to help driving further progress in this exciting area.

Scope:

We welcome clinically oriented submissions related to artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital technologies, especially those focused on innovative applications, high-quality datasets, novel methods and clinical assessment.

Topics of interest are:

  • Clinical studies on artificial intelligence algorithms
  • Cost-effectiveness analyses and policy recommendations
  • Evaluation of the clinical benefits of digital tools in practice
  • Human factors and human-computer interaction
  • Ethics, fairness, and equal opportunities
  • Data security and privacy protection
  • Creation and evaluation of medical data sets
  • Methods of image analysis and their application in clinical settings
  • Natural language processing
  • Multimodal technologies
  • Telemedicine
  • Wearable sensors and mobile applications

Submission instructions:

Full manuscripts should be submitted by 31 May 2024, through the online submission system on the JEADV ScholarOne website.

All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review to ensure high scientific quality and relevance to the special issue’s theme.

We accept original articles, reviews, systematic reviews & meta-analyses. The creation and analysis of reproducible, free, and open technologies is preferred over the use of closed-source tools.
