EADV Task Force Skin Ageing Mission

The Skin Ageing Task Force exists to advance scientific understanding, standardisation, and clinical guidance in skin ageing. Its mission is to develop evidence-based recommendations, foster collaboration across dermatology communities, and promote education and visibility in this evolving field. It values scientific rigor, collaboration, innovation and clinical relevance.

The Skin Ageing Task Force translates its mission into action through research, guideline development and scientific exchange. In practice, the Task Force:

  • Develops and publishes evidence-based guidelines, including the Skin Anti-ageing Guidelines (forthcoming)
  • Produces and supports scientific publications on skin aging, including its mechanisms, definitions, symptoms, and assessment methods
  • Contributes to education through sessions and presentations at major dermatology congresses (e.g. TF Highlights sessions at the EADV)
  • Engages with external scientific societies to share its mission and foster collaboration (e.g. dermatopathology community)
  • Organises internal meetings and regular exchanges to coordinate activities and advance projects
  • Expands visibility through digital platforms, newsletters, and scientific communication channels
  • Identifies and promotes future research priorities, including projects on ageing-related conditions (e.g. dermatoporosis, allergies in aged populations)
