EADV Task Force Dermatology for Cancer Patients
Mission
The Dermatology for Cancer Patients Task Force focuses on dermatologic adverse events and their sequelae related to cancer therapies across all cancer types (e.g. breast, colorectal, lung). It advances supportive oncodermatology through improved prevention, recognition, and management of treatment-related skin toxicities, promoting education, research, and collaboration to enhance patient care and quality of life.
This Task Force brings together over 70 multidisciplinary experts from across Europe and internationally, including dermatologists, oncologists, and allied specialists, fostering a highly collaborative and diverse scientific network.
The Dermatology for Cancer Patients Task Force pursues its mission through the following activities:
- Education & training
Develops courses, and educational materials for dermatologists, oncologists, healthcare professionals, and patients to improve understanding of treatment-related adverse events of cancer therapies - Scientific research
Conducts and coordinates multicentre international studies to identify, characterise, and manage dermatologic adverse events associated with cancer therapies - Guidelines & recommendations
Produces evidence-based guidelines, position papers, and management algorithms in collaboration with EADV and international partners - Networking & collaboration
Builds a strong European and international network of experts to foster interdisciplinary collaboration between dermatologists, oncologists, and allied specialists - Innovation in supportive care
Promotes research on novel toxicities, survivorship care, and restorative dermatology following cancer treatments - Improving patient outcomes
Aims to reduce treatment-related morbidity, prevent unnecessary discontinuation of oncologic therapies, and enhance patients’ quality of life
