Microbiome in dermatology
[Speaker: Dr. Hok Bing Thio] Microbes such as S.aureus and Cutibacterium acnes contribute to inflammatory skin diseases, with ethnic variations noted. Recent attention is on the role of gut microbiota in conditions like psoriasis, where dietary factors and lifestyle, like exercise and sleep, also influence inflammation and microbiota balance.
A new look for the “old” isotretinoin
[Speaker: Prof. Dr. Bodo Melnik] Isotretinoin improves all major aspects of acne pathogenesis. This presentation provides an update of isotretinoin’s impact on transcriptional regulation, which for the first time allows to explain isotretinoin´s desired effects as well as its various undesired drug effects.
