EADV Task Force Sports dermatology
Mission
The EADV Sports Dermatology Task Force aims to advance awareness, research, education and multidisciplinary collaboration in skin health in athletes and physically active populations.
This Task Force promotes prevention, early recognition, and evidence-based management of sport-related skin conditions, while fostering collaboration between dermatologists, sports medicine specialists, other healthcare professionals and sports educators, coaches, athletes.
The Sports Dermatology Task Force works to integrate dermatological expertise into the field of sports medicine and to improve the prevention and management of sport-related skin conditions. Its activities include:
- Promoting research and knowledge exchange on dermatological conditions associated with physical activity and sports environments.
- Developing educational initiatives, scientific sessions, and training opportunities in sports dermatology within EADV activities.
- Supporting the development creation and dissemination of evidence-based recommendations and best practices for the prevention and management of skin conditions in athletes.
- Raising awareness among dermatologists, sports physicians, athletes, physically active individuals, and the general public about skin health related to sport and exercise in sport.
- Encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration with experts in sports medicine, and related disciplines, including infectious diseases, allergology, physiotherapy, nutrition, podiatry, gynecology and other relevant fields.
- Facilitating networking and collaboration among dermatologists interested in sports dermatology across Europe.
- Identifying emerging challenges related to sport, climate, equipment, and environmental exposure affecting skin health.
- Supporting patient organisations in promoting sports participation among patients with skin diseases.
