Policy Roundtable: Addressing skin cancer prevention across the EU

Thursday, 30th September, 14:00 – 16:00 CEST

In February 2021, the European Commission published Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, demonstrating its commitment to fighting cancer at all stages of the care pathway, through an EU-wide, patient-centred approach.

On 30th September, EADV is holding its second Policy Roundtable on skin cancer prevention, bringing together the European Commission, European Parliament and representatives from medical societies, patient organisations and industry. The virtual meeting will consist of a series of presentations and interactive, multi-stakeholder panel discussions around EADV’s policy recommendations on skin cancer prevention. Topics to be tackled include:

  • How can education and awareness-raising on skin cancer can be improved
  • The role of legislation in guiding and protecting EU citizens from excessive exposure to natural and artificial UV radiation
  • Measures and policies needed to ensure the protection of outdoor workers from solar radiation
  • How disparities in skin cancer registration across Europe can be tackled

The meeting will be run on the Zoom platform.
